Our Mission Statement:
By the power of God's Holy Spirit,
we are bridging the gap between young, old, the broken, the lost and Jesus Christ
so that Christ's love is experienced, Christ's teaching is understood, and Christ's healing is a reality.

A message from Pastor Pat

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, and welcome to the website of the Houlton United Methodist Church in Houlton, Maine.  We are glad  you found us here in 'cyberspace.'  We hope that someday we will meet in person, if we have not already!  I am Patrice Goodwin, and I serve as pastor of this congregation.  Actually, I'm pretty new here myself.  I officially began serving here in July, 2012.  I have found the congregation to be warm and welcoming, and I trust you will find the same.

If you are looking for a church family or are simply visiting in our area, we would be so happy to have you join us in worship or in any of the ministry or fellowship activities of the church.

Our church building is located at 57 Military Street, on the corner of Military and School Streets, in downtown Houlton - directly across from the beautiful Monument Park.  Perhaps you've heard that old joke about places in Maine.  The punch line is:  "You can't get there from here."  I'm here to tell you that you CAN get to Houlton from anywhere.  Houlton is a border town between the United States and the Canadian province of New Brunswick.  It is at the northern terminus of Interstate 95 (although we in Houlton like to think of it as the beginning of I-95).  Also, a little fun fact:  It is the only place where US Route 1 and US Route 2 intersect.  You might even say, "All roads lead to Houlton!"

Now that you've located us, I hope that this website will introduce you to our church congregation and some of our ministries and activities, but more importantly, I pray that it will draw you closer to the One whom we love and serve, Jesus Christ.

May I ask you to lift up a prayer for me and this congregation that we may be empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve Christ and lift up His name in genuine and authentic ways.  We would like to pray for you as well.  If you have a prayer request, please send it to me at pastorpat@houltonumc.org so that we can pray for you.

May God's blessings rest upon you this day!

In joy and peace,

Pastor Pat
